Millet Trilogy Clothing Line Millet wanted to launch a new clothing line called the 'Trilogy' series. The series was based on taking the clothing to some of the Alps's hardest routes and faces- we were to shoot them over the course of three years on bigger and bigger objectives. The idea was to create a Trilogy story behind the clothing line that would be promoted yearly by doing a new hard ascent that would be accompanied by video and photos to the media. To date we have done two of the three climbs. The first was a benchmark classic of the European Alps- Beyond Good and Evil. The story of the first ascent of this route is well known amongst alpinists, and a repeat of this route is still a rarity. I headed up the day before to climb the route and see if it was in 'condition'. The following day we went back up and shot hard, steep, mixed climbing. The resulting images have formed a hugely successful worldwide campaign, and the resulting film has won awards worldwide. (Click here to view the current campaign) The second stage in the Trilogy project was to shoot on the North Face of the Grandes Jorasses, a place that is the reserve of top alpinists only. We set out as a small team with the idea to climb a new variation line on the 1200m high face- to be able to climb a new variation is incredibly rare, but to shoot it as a photoshoot is unheard of. After a long day out we came back with the next 2015 winter campaign in the bag, capturing images and video that have never been captured before for a commercial photoshoot.
